Why you should vote for me:

I am a determined individual who has a proven track record in our community making informed decisions. You will be voting for a supporter of positive continuous improvement.

As a proud member of this community, I actively work to improve the lives of all citizens. I volunteer 100s of hours a year to making Regina the best city to live in. I have witnessed Conexus as a proactive community partner and leader in not only providing valuable services but educating and building a stronger community which align with my values.

My experiences in the financial, accounting and business world will make me a valuable member of the board. As a Director of Finance with the Provincial Government, I provide a skill set that will be immediately utilized with Conexus. As vice-chairperson of the Regina Board of Education, I have gained governance experience, overseeing a budget of $240 million a year with over 10% of Regina citizens working or learning in one of our 57 buildings. I understand large impacts, and the significant weight decisions carry. I am enthusiastic and ready to join the Conexus board.

Key strategic opportunities for Conexus Credit Union in the next two to five years:

Boards not only provide strategic direction to an organization, but they must also be strong advocates for the business. I am confident that the more educated of a society we have, particularly with the one thing we all have in common, money, the better we all will be. A key opportunity is to continue the education of financial literacy, and in that process, with the offerings from Conexus, membership could grow.

Through the work of the Regina Public School Board, I have demonstrated an ability to connect to citizens, stakeholders, and officials in meaningful ways that promote the best interests of our citizens. I have publicly supported, advocated for and presented motions on the development of a provincial financial literacy course for every single high school in the province. I have contributed positively to building this movement and will continue the positive role of the Conexus board.

Key risks facing Conexus Credit Union in the next two to five years:

The rate of pace of technology and security has and will only continue to be a growing risk. There are pressures on institutions to ensure they keep pace with changes but at the same time, provide data security along with the protection of privacy. I am currently leading a large scale, citizen-centred IT development project. It is not only an improved database and user-friendly system, but I am developing the IT security, privacy and hosting infrastructure needs with multiple locations across the province. I feel this knowledge as a certified project manager with IT background provides a unique and valuable perspective to the Conexus board. I have also worked on Enterprise Risk Management strategies in the past and understand that the technology risk is only one of many that must be appropriately managed. The management of these risks is a partnership of an engaged administration with the guidance of the board.
