Why you should vote for me:

Co-operative values are an integral part of my personal values, and I have the industry expertise to govern today’s business while envisioning a strong future for Conexus.

Conexus has been my primary financial service provider for a long time. It’s where I opened my first savings account, borrowed for my first car loan, funded my first mortgage and obtained my first investment loan – and the service always came with helpful advice. Today as a financial technology expert, I will help Conexus shape the future of financial services for the next generation, making it possible to have the credit union and co-operative edge shine in an increasingly crowded financial services sector. I want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of members today and prepare Conexus for the members of tomorrow.

Key strategic opportunities for Conexus Credit Union in the next two to five years:

I believe three key strategic opportunities will include redefining the community Conexus serves, typically bounded geographically and by groups with a common interest, to an increasingly digital community. Second, connecting with youth in a meaningful way will pave the way to long-term relationships regardless of where life takes members. Third, creating new digital member experiences that are personalized, safe and intuitive will assure members they made the right choice with Conexus.

Key risks facing Conexus Credit Union in the next two to five years:

Population demographics are changing in Saskatchewan, and that is driving a change in member needs and expectations for financial services. Along with this shift, technology is enabling small, nimble competitors to create niche products that target high value parts of Conexus’ business, while large scale competitors have a cost advantage. In many cases, an aggressive competitor is only a mouse click away. These and other challenges could quickly erode the value proposition Conexus offers and threaten Conexus’ long-term viability. Thought leadership is the best defence against these risks.
