In recognition of our long-standing commitment to the people we serve, Conexus will be offering 30 Community Youth Leadership Awards.

Applications are now open until April 14, 2017.

 

Details

The Conexus Community Youth Leadership Award of $500 is presented to a graduating high school student who demonstrates co-operative spirit, community involvement, and leadership. Our goal is to promote the benefits of being a Conexus Credit Union member and to recognize the contributions made to their school and community.

The intent of the award is to recognize an individual at the time of graduation from high school for the contributions made to school life and community and to reward youth who exhibit leadership skills.

Those individuals interested in the Conexus Community Youth Leadership Award shall complete the application form and provide letters of support from a member of their school faculty and a local community leader. Final selection of the successful candidates shall be made by a committee of Conexus management and staff. Representatives from Conexus shall present the award at the annual graduation ceremonies whenever possible.

The award recipient shall be recognized through Conexus media channels.

Eligibility

Guidelines

  • Must be a graduating high school student in Saskatchewan
  • Must be a Conexus Credit Union Member (or parent/guardian of applicant) for at least one year and accounts must be in good standing.
  • Must be a Saskatchewan resident
  • Award recipients must submit and grant permission to use his/her name and photo in any and all media releases or publications controlled by Conexus
  • Completed applications must be received by Conexus by midnight on April 14, 2017.  Late submissions will not be considered.

    The deadline for the Conexus Community Youth Leadership Award is April 14, 2017.  Late submissions will not be considered.  

    Email completed application and requested attachments to communityinvestment@conexus.ca with the subject line “Leadership Award Application”. Applications will be disqualified if all four required documents are not received.

    Applicants must:
    • be a graduating high school student in Saskatchewan
    • be a Conexus Credit Union member (or parent/guardian of applicant is a member) for at least one year and accounts must be in good standing
    • be a Saskatchewan resident
    • submit completed application with supporting documents by email by the required deadline

    Applications must be submitted by email to communityinvestment@conexus.ca by midnight, April 14, 2017. Late submissions will not be considered.

    Who selects the award recipients and what is the process? Expand/Collapse

    A selection committee made up of Conexus staff, management, and executive members adjudicate the applications.  Applicants are scored on their essay question as well as three weighted categories – leadership role, community involvement, and school participation.  A student must score a benchmark of at least 65 points in order to be eligible to receive the award.

    All applicants will be contacted by email with the outcome of their application by April 28, 2017.

    Recipients will be recognized at their graduation ceremony whenever possible and through Conexus media channels. Submission of your applications is considered consent to use and disclose your name and/or picture for marketing and public relations purposes.

    It’s easy!  Download the award application and when completed, email your application to communityinvestment@conexus.ca.  Don’t forget to include both of your letters of support, a copy of your latest report card or academic transcript.
