What is Deposit Anywhere?


Deposit Anywhere is a new feature on our mobile app that allows you to deposit cheques by taking a photo of them and submitting them to Conexus, anywhere, anytime.

Do I have to sign up to use this product?

No. Deposit Anywhere will be available on both the Apple and Android apps. If you have one of these apps you will automatically have access to this product and it does not require additional steps to activate.

Will my deposited cheque show up immediately in my account and can I use the funds immediately?

Yes. The deposit shows up immediately in your account. However, holds on the deposit will reflect your current ATM holds and may require time to clear. Please contact your branch or us at 1-800-667-7477 to review your account holds.

Is depositing cheques with a mobile phone safe?

Yes. As a feature of our mobile banking app, Deposit Anywhere meets the same high standards as our mobile and online banking services.

Do I pay a fee to deposit a cheque using the app?

If you have a personal account you will not be charged a fee to deposit a cheque.

If you are a business member you will be charged the standard $1 deposit fee per item (i.e. if three cheques are deposited, a deposit fee will be charged three times as each cheque is considered a unique deposit)

Can I deposit the cheque into any account?

Cheques can be deposited into a savings or a chequing account.

What type of cheques cannot be deposited?

US Funds, post-dated and third party cheques cannot be deposited at this time.

How will I know if there is an issue with my deposit after I submit the cheque?

In the rare circumstance that there is an issue with the deposit after you receive confirmation during the deposit, you will be contacted by us.

What happens if I enter the wrong amount by mistake?

We double check all the information to ensure the right amount is deposited quickly and securely into your account.

What should I do with my paper cheques afterwards?

The cheques should be destroyed after 90 days. You do not need to send the cheques to your branch.

Are there any items other than cheques that can be deposited?

Yes. The following items can be processed:

  • Cheque
  • Money order
  • Bank draft
  • Convenience cheque
  • Certified cheque
The following items will be rejected:

  • Third party cheque
  • U.S. funds cheque
  • U.S. cheque
  • Non-Canadian and non-U.S. cheques
  • Returned item
  • Savings Bonds
