Identify your budget and renovation needs
List all the renovations you hope to do.
Decide what amount you’re comfortable spending on renovations.
Get estimates to understand how much each renovation might cost.
Think about what’s most important if you must stay within your budget.
Step 2
Explore and secure financing options
Talk to a Mobile Mortgage Specialist or Financial advisor to understand the different financing options available to you as well as what amount you may be approved for.
Research the different renovation financing options available to you such as our Home Plus Plan (HPP) or Purchase Plus Improvement Program (PIPP), which can be integrated into your mortgage. Or choose one of our other renovation financing options such as line of credit, personal loan, etc.
To be eligible for financing, we require vacation properties and cabins to be in Canada. Additionally, some requirements must be met when it comes to owned and leased lands, water, and sewer sources, heating sources, etc.
Once you’ve secured financing, begin your renovation work, and bring your vision to life!
Government assistance and programs available:
SaskEnergy’s Residential Equipment Replacement Rebate: Rebates from $100 to $1,000 for replacing old equipment with newer, higher efficiency models.
SaskPower Solar and Wind-powered Pump Grant: Grants for the installation and costs of a solar or wind-powered water pump system, covering 50% of the costs up to $500.
