Partnering for change

We strive to live into our purpose – to champion every member’s success for a thriving Saskatchewan – but we can’t go it alone.

We need partners - organizations in the community that are hard at work every day helping to address the social and economic issues that matter to our members, and our province.

Every year, Conexus contributes 5% of our pre-tax profits to our Community Investment Program. In 2025, we have committed to provide nearly $1.6 million to a range of community partners who can help address our social impact priorities.

Our social impact priorities

As a Saskatchewan-based credit union, we believe we are an integral part of the communities we serve and have a responsibility to address social and economic issues that matter to our members—issues we are uniquely positioned to help solve.

After reviewing our priorities in 2024, we are aligning our social impact efforts with a theme of “helping people start.” This includes investing in children and youth and supporting the aspirations of local entrepreneurs. These priorities are reflected in the following two key areas of focus that will guide our social impact initiatives moving forward.

Children and youth

Helping children and youth to reach their potential by addressing barriers to growth, such as poverty, inadequate housing, mental health issues and poor literacy.

Entrepreneurs

Promoting entrepreneurship and the growth of new businesses, helping Saskatchewan people create value for their families and their communities.

Building deep partnerships

We know that as much as our community partners value our support, it’s even better when we can make a multi-year commitment which offers the stability they need to plan for the future.

As we have evolved our community investment program, we have focused on seeking out partners who align with our values and priorities, creating long-term partnerships with them. With this approach, we no longer have an open application process for community investment funding.

Community Vitality Fund

While the majority of our funding is devoted to major partnerships, we know there is also a need to support local, grassroots projects that support quality of life in our communities.

Beginning in 2025, we are introducing a new category of giving in our community investment program – the Community Vitality Fund.

This fund of $240,000 per year will be set aside to support small projects and initiatives in communities across Saskatchewan where we live and work.
Our local Conexus leaders will be empowered to identify and choose initiatives that improve a community facility or program, and to provide one-time grants of up to $8,000.
