As part of the ongoing enhancements to the Interac e-Transfer® service, we want to inform you about recent changes to Interac e-Transfer® email notifications. These updates, provided by our partners at Interac, aim to offer an improved experience and set the stage for exciting future features.


What’s Changing?

• New Look: The design of all Interac e-Transfer® notifications, including receive, send, request money, and Autodeposit notifications, will be refreshed. These enhancements will not only improve your visual experience but also make these emails more secure by reducing the chances of them being spoofed, enhancing your protection against phishing attacks.
• Anti-Abuse Solutions: A new tool will allow recipients to opt out of seeing user-generated content, such as memos, in their notifications. This option can be activated via a link in the notification email. If you decide to opt out, sender-generated content will be replaced with neutral, standardized text from that sender.

What You Need to Know:

• Enhanced Experience: These changes aim to deliver a more vibrant, engaging experience, while also improving safety.
• No Action Required: You do not need to take any action. The changes will automatically be applied to your Interac e-Transfer® email notifications starting today, October 22, 2024.
• Same Functionality: These changes will not affect how you send or receive money, your Contacts, or your Autodeposit settings. The process remains the same.

We understand that with a new look, some members may initially be unfamiliar with the design and may have concerns about phishing or scam attempts. Please know that these updates are legitimate and part of Interac’s ongoing efforts to enhance your Interac e-Transfer® experience.


What if You Receive Harassing Messages?

If you experience any issues related to abusive or harassing content within Interac e-Transfer® messages, the new anti-abuse feature is available to help protect you. You can opt into this feature directly through the notification email.
