SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDER FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH CONEXUSCREDIT UNION

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation (Foundation) is proud to announce Conexus Credit Union (Conexus) as the presenting partner for the Game Changers Playbook and Win With Wellness player presentation series.

“This partnership will help expand the reach of the resources in the playbook across the province, ensuring there is more discussion around the mental wellness of youth in Saskatchewan,” said Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation Scheduler and Player Ambassador, Dan Clark. “Going out in these communities and doing the presentations, I’ve seen first-hand how important it is to provide youth the tools to help them take care of their mental wellness.”

Unveiled in October of 2022, the Game Changers Playbook presented by Conexus is a collection of Ministry approved mental health resources that are evidence based and curriculum linked. With a goal of empowering and equipping youth to look after their mental wellness, the Foundation works collaboratively with the following leading mental wellness organizations to provide the resources for no cost:

• Strong Minds Strong Kids, Psychology Canada – Kids Have Stress Too! and Stress Lessons

• Kids Help Phone – Counsellor in the Classroom

• SaskTel – Be Kind Online

• Mental Health Commission of Canada – The Working Mind for Sport Leaders

The Foundation and Conexus have also partnered on the Win With Wellness presentation series which brings trained player ambassadors into Saskatchewan classrooms to present on and promote the discussion of mental wellness in youth.

“For over 80 years, Conexus has been committed to supporting our communities across Saskatchewan,” said Celina Philpot, CEO of Conexus. “It’s important that we break down the stigmas around mental health, and the Game Changers Playbook and Win With Wellness player presentations help to achieve that by showing kids that mental health struggles can affect anyone – even a Saskatchewan Roughrider. These lessons will help positively impact the lives of students, their families, and the communities they live in.”
