Recognizing Saskatchewan’s future leaders 

Conexus’ 2023 Youth Leadership Award applications now open 

(Weds., April 19, 2023 – Regina, SK) – Each year, Conexus Credit Union recognizes graduating high school students across the province who are trying to make their corner of the world a better place. Applications for the 2023 Youth Leadership Awards are now open. 

The Youth Leadership Awards recognize seven high-school graduates from across Saskatchewan who demonstrate leadership in their communities. Each recipient is awarded a $1,000 cash prize and $1,000 deposited into a Conexus term account, as well as a mentoring session with a Conexus staff member to discuss future goals and achieving financial well-being. 

“The Youth Leadership Award helped me to get a head start on my savings journey and taught me the importance of a tax-free savings account (TFSA). The cash prize was used to purchase a computer for school that I have been using to this day. I am glad that I applied for the award!”, Owen, a previous Youth Leadership Award recipient.

To be eligible for the award, the applying student must be:

• a Conexus member or have a parent or guardian that is a Conexus member; 

• graduating from a Saskatchewan high school in the current academic year; and

• must complete all areas of the application and provide the necessary supporting documents. 

Applications are being accepted until Fri., May 12, 2023. 

“Conexus is committed to empowering the next generation of leaders through initiatives such as Camp Kindling and our Youth Leadership Award,” said Courtney Rink, Community Engagement Manager, Conexus. “Through this award, we aim to not only celebrate the outstanding contributions of these young leaders to their communities but also provide them with the tools and resources to build a financially secure future. We believe financial literacy is a critical life skill, and as a credit union, it’s important to us that we provide youth with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.”
